Both counselors at the SBDC at Wright State University are veterans and take pride in focusing on the veteran community by helping veterans learn about entrepreneurial opportunities.  We also assist veterans by providing resources and contact information for employment options and other veteran related services.  Below are a list of services and contacts we think veterans will find useful:

National Veterans Small Business Conference

National Veterans Small Business Conference Website > - The National Veteran Small Business Conference and Expo is the premier government event for Veteran-owned businesses.  More than 3,500 Veteran-Owned and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned businesses receive a wide range of information to help maximize their opportunities in the federal workplace.

Boots to Business Training

This Two-day Transition Assistance Program (TAP) Self- Employment Intensive Training Workshop is offered in collaboration among the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), the Institute for Veterans and Military Families at Syracuse University (IVMF), the Department of Defense and the Department of Veterans Affairs.

We are recruiting up to 30 interested transitioning service members, veterans and military spouses to participate in the workshop (offered quarterly), you will learn if starting a business is right for you, if your business idea is feasible and much more!

Vetrepreneur Academy

Each year, the SBDC at WSU provides a series of night classes geared toward helping veterans grow their business.  Current business owners or veterans who want to start a business may attend.  The classes are currently offered at no charge, meet once per week for two hours and provide skills in varying areas of business growth and management.

Veteran Assistance for Resume Writing

If you decide entrepreneurship is not your best option, there are resources available for employment also.  Please contact our offices if you have questions regarding these services and feel free to download the guides below from Wright Patterson AFB.  They provide guidelines on writing resumes and cover letters.
