America Invents Act: First Steps Luncheon and Seminar
Improve the Way You Are Doing Business and Addressing Patents!
Co-sponsored by the Edison Materials Technology Center (EMTEC) and Thompson Hine LLP’s Intellectual Property Group
The America Invents Act is THE MOST IMPORTANT PIECE OF PATENT LEGISLATION in 60 years and represents a substantial overhaul of the patent system. During this 90-minute luncheon seminar Thompson Hine’s patent attorneys will familiarize you with the most important changes effected by the Act and introduce you to strategies and practices that will enable you and your business to adjust to these changes most effectively. We will examine the benefits and drawbacks of this legislation from the standpoint of the small business and the large company. There are provisions that make it advantageous to disclose inventions early. There are other provisions that favor trade secrets. And other provisions that should reduce the cost of challenging patents.
Our presenters from the law firm of Thompson Hine are:
- Mark P. Levy
- Susan M. Oiler
- Steven J. Elleman
The program will address the following topics:
- Invention Disclosure Practices in a First-to-File System
