SBDC client selected as a WiBN 2017 “Woman to Watch”
Congratulations to Juanita Darden-Jones, owner of Third Perk Coffeehouse and Wine Bar! She has been selected as one of the Miami Valley’s 25 Women to Watch for 2017 by Women in Business Networking, a program of your Better Business Bureau.
Juanita joyfully brings ideas, collaboration, superb coffee, wine and food to our community and certainly deserves this recognition. She owns and operates Third Perk Coffeehouse and Wine Bar at 46 West 5th Street in Dayton and Third Perk Express at the Northwest Dayton Library. She also teaches math at Sinclair Community College and still finds time to mentor and promote other small businesses and artists in the community.
Juanita uses Third Perk as a venue for local artists and musicians to gain exposure. Artwork is displayed at Third Perk, rotating monthly to give as many artists as possible a platform. On Friday evenings, local musicians are also given the opportunity to reach new followers through performances at Third Perk.
Juanita saw a need to help aspiring entrepreneurs and held a pitch competition at Third Perk which will culminate April 20th in the Dreamer’s Gala, from 7-10 p.m. at the Sinclair Conference Center. It will be a celebration of established entrepreneurs and upcoming entrepreneurs alike. In addition to music and networking, 3 entrepreneurs will be awarded capital for their start-ups.
Juanita has been very busy, she is also included in a documentary “The Modern Entrepreneur” that will be shown in Sears Recital Hall on the University of Dayton Campus on April 18th at 5 PM.
Please take some time to visit Third Perk and delight in the delicious coffee, wine and food while taking in the wonderful atmosphere of the coffeehouse. As the weather improves, Third Perk’s patio is also a perfect place to meet with friends and enjoy good company and a great cup of coffee or glass of wine.
Congratulations again to Juanita, truly one of the Miami Valley’s Women to Watch!
